AskFrankie Privacy Notice (beta)
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Who we are
AskFrankie is run by DahmsIO LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13376001, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ, England). We are the controller of your personal data.
Contact: hello@dahms.io. ICO registration: pending.
What we collect and why
- Your email address: to create your account, send sign-in codes and prevent abuse (for example people creating many free accounts). Legal basis: providing the service you asked for, and our legitimate interest in security.
- Your questions to AskFrankie, and usage data (date, cost, outcome): to answer you, apply your monthly question limit and keep costs under control. Legal basis: providing the service and our legitimate interest in running it sustainably. Please don’t put sensitive personal information in your questions.
- A one-way scrambled version of your network address (never the address itself): to limit abuse.
- A sign-in token stored in your browser and, scrambled, on our server: strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We use no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
- Your choice about paid-plan news: if you press “Notify me about paid plans” we record when you agreed and the wording you saw, and we will email you once when plans launch. You can switch this off at any time in the Account menu. Legal basis: your consent.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to run AskFrankie: Resend (sign-in emails), Netlify (hosting), Supabase (database), Anthropic (AI answers: your question and relevant archive excerpts are sent to produce an answer) and Voyage AI (search processing of your question).
Some are based in the US. Where data goes outside the UK we rely on the providers’ data processing terms and approved transfer safeguards. We don’t sell your data and don’t use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Question text: 90 days, then it is erased. Your account: until you delete it. Sign-in codes: minutes.
When you delete your account we erase your email, sign-in sessions and question text. To stop the monthly free allowance being reset by deleting and re-registering, we keep a record with no email in it (a one-way scrambled version of your email and how many questions you used that month) until the end of that month.
Our database is backed up weekly, so deleted data can remain in backups for up to about six weeks before it is overwritten.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, take a copy, or withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account yourself in the Account menu, or email hello@dahms.io.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Age
AskFrankie is for people aged 18 or over, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
This is a beta. If we change how we use your data we will update this page and, if the change matters, tell you.
